easy to install...for the best effect put it forward of the pilot seat so that the air can be directed on the pilot...also...the cut out is large so make sure the ring is centered so your drilled mounting holes are not too close to the edge of the opening

We have installed this on the copilot side and rear windows of a Cessna 182, which works on hot weather. Makes taxing much more friendly to the rest of the users. Lets a nice breeze in from the prop wash. Once in the air, if cool, you may close them . Some people like the air in their face, works for airsickness. ) Easy to install, go slow on the cutting, dont let the drill jam. Sand the cutout before you install the vent.

Works good but would be better if it had a small scoop when open to push in some air.

easy to install but be careful with cutter. Got used hardware with the first one that had stripped threads. had to go to hardware store to finish installation the next day.

Q: What is the hole diameter and do you have a better picture of it? Thx, Dan

The hole diameter is approximately 2". We will be adding a better photo of the Vista Vent later this afternoon. (Feb. 12, 2013)

Q: Does the vista vent need an STC to installed on a BN 2 Islander?

These Vista Vents ARE approved to be installed on a Cessna 162 only and would not require an STC. All other certified aircraft will require a 337 form filled out to be installed.

Q: Can this be installed in a twin that has a faster airspeed? Our Navajos get very hot up front in the summer.

Per Supplier, Yes it can be installed on twin engine aircraft. There is no speed limitations and has never been an issue with a faster airspeed aircraft.

Q: What is the outside diameter of the vista vents (the very outside measurements)?

The outside diameter of the Vista Vents is 3-1/2".

Q: What document proves they are approved for a certified aircraft? I have a C172H and the A&P will require more than my word they are approved befoer installing them. Any help would be appreciated. Best, Bruce

Please take a look at the 'Documents' tab on the web page. The available approval document can be downloaded there.

Q: Are these vents sold individually or do they come as a pair?

These vents are priced and sold individually.

Q: Is the hardware stainless steel?
