Low Profile, Two-Piece Oil Drain Valves This valve is the perfect choice for a close clearance engine oil drain application such as on the Piper Arrow. These low profile oil drain valves are designed to clear retractable landing gears and other restrictions. The valve is very affordable and can be rebuilt. It is a simple procedure to sample or drain hot oil. Merely screw on the opener adapter and slightly open the valve for a sample, or fully open for complete drainage. The valve is made from 360 brass and 302 stainless steel. FAA & PMA APPROVED. Each valve comes with a F50-180 Straight Opener. F50-90 Bent Opener sold separately. |
Nice high quality, no leaks. Fits the AEIO 580 B1A. Havent done the first oil change with it yet.
SAF-AIR F50 OIL DRAIN VALVE
I was never able to use the part as the one you sent was wrong.
SAF-AIR F50 OIL DRAIN VALVE
Very please with the Oil Drain Valve, I order the valve on Tuesday morning and was told that I was in the next day shipping range, and charged $$ for the fast shipping. Well I did get the item the next day, late afternoon,(after 5 PM) so it didnt do me any good to pay the extra to get it the next day since I could not was tied up that night and the next day. not sure Ill use the Next Day Service again.
Not much to not like. Appears to be solid brass, comes in 2 pieces (center drain hose section, outer knurled threaded piece) Price is reasonable and appears it will last till you lose it. I used a small tie wrap on the center section so it cannot fall out but the drain hose can still slide on fine.
I had a problem with one of these sticking shut whenever it was tightened into the engine. Its pretty old, so I e-mailed Saf-Air to ask if this was a normal failure mode with age, or if it just needed to be rebuilt (these are rebuildable). They said It shouldnt do that, and they sent me a new one free of charge! Talk about a company that stands behind their product. In addition to the great customer service, its a great product. Connect a short hose to the opener, and you can drain oil directly into a jug without spilling a drop. It seems a bit pricey, but if you do your own oil changes, its definitely worth it.
This company is awesome. Contacted them about a part needed for one of their valves and they sent part out free of charge. Excellent service and they even go the extra mile. I recommend their products to everyone.!
