PMA6000B Audio Panel w/4-place mono intercom available with or without marker beacon receiver.
|
I had a new 6000B w/marker beacon receiver installed in my P172D last May--couldn't justify the additional features of the more sophisticated PSE models. What a superb upgrade (previous was a used KA24 King)! The intercom function is much better than my old separate intercom--breaks the squelch easier, without the squelch breaking because of engine noise, making communication with passengers much easier. Being able to shut off the passengers is great, while they can still talk to one another. I had a pair of music jacks installed, one for the front seat and one for the back seat--this allows the back seaters to have their own music, if they wish. I plug in a portable XM radio, so that makes long solo cross countries much more pleasant, and with the automatic mute function, the music instantly shuts off so as not to block ATC calls.
