My first FuelHawk disappeared by rolling away unnoticed at a fuel stop. Thus, The Original Fuel Stop Part# 13-17631 is recommended. It also results in a more reproducible dip if adjusted to center the stick in the filler opening.

A great add-on for the Fuelhawk fuel gauge. Snapped on with a good solid grip. No slipping. Definitely helps you keep a good grip on the fuel gauge and it wont roll away when you set it down on a wing.

The days of having the winds blowing the dipstick over the wings are over. I use the 16 dipstick, so dropping it in tanks isnt a concern to me, but stop refueling just to chase the dipstick down on the tarmac is. The fuel stops side wings keep the fuel stick wherever I lay it on the wing.

When I first saw this thing on the web, I thought it was silly--Id never lost a fuel stick into a tank, although Id heard of pilots who had. But I thought, what the heck, it could happen, and its inexpensive, so I ordered it. The very day I ordered this thing, I was preflighting, and the fuel stick slipped from my fingers because of the cold and my arthritic fingers. Fortunately it did not fall out of reach into the tank. I installed it as soon as it came, and since then I havent dropped the fuel stick again. But now I know it could happen to me, but Im prepared.

Sorta camp look but handy. I have had a fuel stick roll off the wing when I set it down, so the advert is right. It does prevent that. Should be easy to trim some off the width.

Its a clear plastic tube with numbered increments etched on it. Durable stiff paper for plotting your calibration. Does the job well.

A good solution to two problems -- the stick can roll off the wing which is a pain and/or the stick can get dropped inside the fuel tank which is an even bigger pain. It is only a snap-on device so it can snap off (which is a minor pain unless it comes off at just the wrong time and it then reverts to a major pain). A dot of super glue seems to have resolved that problem.

Doesnt work with the Cessna 150/152 fuel level indicator thats a smaller diameter than the fuel hawk line. No way to know that since the diameter isnt shown on the item description! It fits the aforementioned fuel hawk line, but was much lighter weight than Id imagined. Looks like it would work well though.

Does not fit the fuel stick #12-21255 Aircraft Spruce sells for PA28 fuel tanks. Disappointed and now stuck with the product that costs more to return ship than buy.

Does not fit the PA-28 twenty five gallon quantity tube I purchased. Tube was three eights or less. This particular item only fits a 1/2 inch diameter tube. Unfortunately, when I purchased the tube it did not give the diameter size.
