The radio dose not work so far. I have been in contact with the manufacturer and they are helping but it dose not work. I think I will have to send it back after trying the adjustments the Tec recommended. Still didn’t work. What a pain. Hopefully AS will cover the shipping to return the radio. I was really looking forward to this replacement for my old KX170, which still works by the way.

I had two problems when I installed the MX170C in my 1978 Mooney 201: 1-The old KX-175B was stuck, since it had not been removed from the panel since 1991. To pry it loose I had to remove the audio panel above the radio, the old LORAN to the right of the radio, and the other KX-175B below the radio. 2-The KX-175B and the MX170C require different size hex wrenches. Once I solved those problems, the MX170C went in easily and worked perfectly when I switched it on. I am very satisfied.

Having used coms with the frequency flip flop feature many times before I was a little disappointed with my new to me airplane having dinosaur KX 170s in both slots. After about a year living with them, and thinking I would have some panel upgrades done to several items at the same time, the Covid 19 thing has put dreams of a big upgrade on indefinite hold. I bit the MX 170 bullet and performed the install myself. It went surprisingly easy and took only about 10 minutes. The new MX 170 is performing great and I am so happy staging my next freq for when I need it with a push of the button! Little things like this spread out the workload and really help make flying more fun.

Good replacement for a tired KX-175 in my Citabria. 5 minutes to remove the old NavCom and install the new one. Most of that time was spent removing the packaging. Good value. Like the Flip/Flop and memory functions.

Love it . Turn one screw , pull out old KX170B and slide in new MX170C and turn another screw . Like the advantage of having the flip flop channel selection .

Ive used these radios in several planes for 30 years. Slide them in and they work whether replacing King, Narco or Cessna radios. So far they have been trouble-free.

Replaced 1 of my 2 king 170Bs original equipment in my 1979 Warrior II. Plug and play installation except for different size Allen wrench to latch in slot. Works fine channeling the KN75 glideslope ki209 indicator and KN62A DME. Works great except had to tweak squelch level a hair. Adjustable with small flathead screwdriver thru hole in front panel. Easy to tune and swap frequencies. Also can preset and select up to 50 com and nav frequencies but requires 2 hands to scroll thru presets as you must hold 1 button down and momentarily press another to scroll to next. Only comments are com volume knob also rotates to turn power off and no mark on knob to see how high you have set the com volume after turning radio on. I painted a white dot on the knob to see the volume level. Also must keep holding. the TEST button down to disable squelch to receive weak com signals. Would be better if it would flip/flop the squelch on or off. The. Old King 170B could switch the squelch off continuously on the rare occasion it was necessary. Has reception sensitivity just as good as the old King radios.
