XM weather works good on the ground before takeoff. I never listen to music in an aircraft. I havent tried the attitude function yet but I expect it will work just fine.
Easy set up and works well with Foreflight. Love it.
I finally got it working. Connecting with Sirius XM was challenging due to connectivity issues with Sirius XM. There were no issues with the GDL51because once
GARMIN GDL 51 GPS SXM WEATHER AND ATTITUDE
Better than any other portable SiriusXM weather option for the cockpit: light, ridiculously-long battery life, easy to use, etc. Its surprisingly heavy, probably because its mostly battery the weight, combined with its rubber bottom, means that it doesnt slide around on the dash, even in turbulence. The one caveat is that the bluetooth connectivity is still a little flaky, at least with Android devices. It drops in and out a lot, disconnects devices entirely sometimes, and forgets its auto-reconnect options. By comparison, the bluetooth link between my panel-mounted Garmin GTX 345 transponder and the same Android devices is rock solid (so the problem is probably not the Android devices). Hoping this gets fixed in a future system-software release.
Gdl51 works great except one problem. One of the main readons i purchased it was for the surface anaylis. The fronts and isobars . If you have,Garmin Pilot , it is not set up for the analyst chart. I would have kept my gdl39 if i had known and saved the money
