Pre-sewn envelopes are much easier to install than fabric yard goods. The envelopes are sewn to fit each individual surface depending upon the type of airplane. They can be placed on the surface like a sock. The envelopes are sewn using a special thread and special stitches. Fabric tapes must be placed over all seams. The seams can be sewn chord-wise or span-wise for the wings. Individual Pieces Priced Per Each. |
I have a wing challenger 2 special short wing clip two passenger, I want to know how much it costs covering. And encluye. example covering for the wings, ailerons, elevators, roder estabelizadores
Complete set is not really complete. No gear, no flaps and no ailerons were included. No place to indicate what elevator on order form. Been almost 2 months trying to order worked out. Wouldn’t order again.
Recovering a 7AC Champ fuselage, couldnt pull the fabric past the tabs at the aileron cross over fairleads attachment. Cut the seams back trying to pull the fabric forward. With the seams aligned with the upper formers and lower longerons the fabric is tight as a drum about mid rear window opening. The fabric in front of the dorsal fin is bunched up, too much to try to shrink. I waited over a month and now I wait for another one to come in. Dont waste your money. Too many people having the same problems with these envelops, FIX THE PROBLEM!
Bought the J3 cub fuselage envelope. The fit was so terrible around the vertical fin, we cut it off and started over with another companys envelope. The fabric barely shrunk out the excess and the runout on the sewn seam was so bad that a 2 tape wouldnt cover it. Totally unacceptable.
Applying envelope to Great Lakes biplane fuselage. Fit over vertical stab ok but fabric length quite excessive below aft cockpit sewn seam to tail section, does not match aircraft dimensions. It presents a 6 inch bulge (excessive fabric length) on each lower fuselage side aft of cockpit, which has to be shrunk down to fit with the turtleback and tail fabric above it. Work is especially tedious and resulting fabric application is unacceptable. I would not buy this product again.
fuselage is dead straight, envelope is so desperately tight at cabin yet very baggy toward the tail, with serious puckers in the seams at the verticle stabilizer. Big mistake buying this. Had to open seams and resew, cut to relieve pressure on cabin structure. No shortcut here.

The P103 is the medium weight fabric and the P99 is the heavy weight fabric. The same pattern is used to sew the envelope so no difference in the fit between the fabrics.
The pre-sewn envelopes include the fabric only sewn into the envelope pattern. All additional materials will need to be purchased seperately.
