Very good alternative to the tinnerman style clips typically used in factory installations with sheet metal screws for things like attaching the glare shield or even securing covers on instrument panels. Cost more, works much better, lasts much longer, and you dont have pointy sheet metal screws behind the panel to rip the flesh of unsuspecting mechanics. Less bloodshed is good :-)

Over the last few months I have purchased at least a couple of every size floating clip nut (both LHA and Monadnock) that Spruce sells. On every single one, the nut seems to have been crushed to elongate the threaded hole. As a result, excessive effort is required to both install a screw AND remove it. I dont know if this elongation is a defect, or if it is part of the design. Where I use them, the screws need to be removed periodically. This elongation is problematic because the extreme tightness frequently causes the screw head to get bunged on removal. It is possible to re-tap the nuts to the specified size to facilitate later removal of the screw. If you are buying new clip-nuts only because the old ones are holding the screws too tightly, the new clip-nuts may not solve your problem.
