Gale Merliss at MERL does not sell individual ELT batteries for their products,but Aircraft Spruce has the latest, fresh batteries that they sell to customers. The Model # BP-1005 ELT was developed during WW II to be packed with cargo destined to be dropped by parachute to troops on the ground. The ELT could be tracked for pickup, It is probably the best ELT ever designed and has a Impact G-Switch that is activated in any 360 degree direction. Q: On the BP-1005 ELT battery, what is the expiration date as they are not returnable?

When we get the BP-1005 it has two years plus a few months before they expire so we have time to sell it before the two year time frame starts.

Q: Do you replace this battery every 2 year that would be 50% of this battery life?

This battery has a date stamped on it and after 2 years must be replaced.

Q: Do you have a weight for the Merl BP-1005 battery?
