The new battery pack solved the issues of my Stratus receiver never taking a charge. It was always suspected of having a bad charging port but now it reliability has been restored 100 percent.

If your Stratus battery is no longer holding much of a charge, this kit will do the job to bring it back to like-new performance. However, I definitely have some issues with it. First of all, why sell an entire half of the device case with battery when all that is needed is the battery? The battery has a connection plug, so it could simply be unplugged and a new one connected in its place. I found new batteries with the same part number by the same manufacturer available online for only $1.24 each... the problem is that their minimum order was 1,000 pieces. So why not just do the right thing and sell only the identical battery with connector plug (and perhaps the very small Torx screwdriver) at a much lower price? The lower price would sure be nicer, with the added benefit of being a much greener alternative by eliminating the waste of the old case components that must now be discarded and added to your local landfill. Also, although this battery kit shows to fit only the Stratus 2, 2S, and 3 models, it DOES ABSOLUTELY fit the 1S model as well. The only difference is that when used for the 1S it provides a small hole in the case for a port that only exists in the later models. Having a very small hole in the side of the case for a port that does not exist is certainly not a problem. The only issue if it is used for the 1S is that the kit comes with new stickers for the back of the case (because the old sticker covers two of the case screw holes and must therefore be removed to access the screws), but there is no sticker included for the 1S model. I simply cut out and re-used the model, part, and serial number portions of the old sticker, using clear packing tape to adhere them to one of the included new stickers. Voila... back in business. Come on, Appareo (the manufacturer), do the right thing here... sell us the battery only and lower the price!!!
